In the beginning…something that wasn’t now: is.
It’s like that at the start of something. New. Exciting. Then, the reality of the thing sets in. Conception is over. Gestation, complete. The realization that you’ve only just finished the prequel sets in.
You find yourself celebrating, but only momentarily because the uneasiness is setting in. A slow dressing of anxiety…sliding over your skin you like cool, satin pajamas…subtly shocking your senses awake.
You replay all the steps leading up to right now in your mind both consciously and sub-consciously. You obsess about possible mistakes and wonder how and when they will show up. Somehow you can’t escape the reminder that everything you’ve done to get here means nothing if you can’t play (and win) the second half…because third and fourth quarters matter most…and the game clock is ticking.
You are looking at it.
The start of anything makes you ask yourself questions — am I good enough, will I BE enough, do I have enough? It could go any number of ways…
(pssst…no one knows for sure right now)
Let’s keep it in perspective — you’ve only JUST made it to the starting line. Focus on the task at-hand. You’ve trained for this (or at least that’s what you will tell yourself every mile until you cross the finish line…wherever and whenever that may be).
This is only #TheBeginning
